WageWorks Launches Works4Me Campaign to Help Businesses Increase Employee Participation and Promote the Money-Saving Benefits Offered by Flexible Spending Accounts

SAN MATEO, Calif., Sept. 21 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Just in time for the 2011 benefits open enrollment season, WageWorks, the nation's leading consumer-directed benefits provider, has launched the Works4Me promotional program to help employers get the word out about the benefits offered by Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs).

FSAs are tax-advantaged accounts that are offered by many employers to help individuals pay for expenses not covered by their health insurance. Employees who participate in flexible spending accounts can save up to 40% off everyday health expenses such as doctor visit co-pays, vision and dental services (including LASIK surgery and orthodontia) and hundreds of prescribed over-the-counter medicines. Employees with children (or elderly dependents) can save additional amounts off their daycare and other dependent care costs by participating in a dependent care FSA.

"With the uncertainty created by rising costs and health care reform, it's important that both businesses and their eligible employees be made aware of this valuable cost-saving tool," said WageWorks' CEO Joe Jackson. "The great thing about Works4Me is that it is an off-the-shelf solution, complete with proven communication and educational tools, which makes it easy for any business to promote their FSA program to eligible employees."

Works4Me is designed for use by WageWorks' clients to generate interest during open enrollment, when individuals have a chance to renew or make changes to their benefit packages. Key to the program is the www.fsaworks4me.com promotional micro site that will enable the visitor to explore his or her personal savings opportunities through calculators, profiles and the personal stories of current FSA participants. The program will also allow employers to facilitate on-location events and contests, where HR and benefits staff can educate interested employees in an informal setting.
