Card Verification 101: What It Means. What You Need to Do.

When receipts are requested, it is usually after a purchase at a non-IIAS certified health care merchant such as a pharmacy that sells eligible and ineligible OTC items along with prescription medications.

You will be able to use the Card at these health care merchants but most likely you will be asked to submit receipts for verification. For best results at these merchants use another form of payment and submit receipts for reimbursement via Pay Me Back.

If you use your Card and receive a Card Use Verification (CUV) form along with your account statement, you will need to take action within 90 days of the transaction or risk the possibility of having your Card suspended.

The following will provide you with some information on the CUV process and what you can do to easily resolve unverified transactions and avoid the possibility of Card suspension.

Review Your Account Statements Regularly for Unverified Transactions
Your account statement details any transactions requiring receipt or repayment. The best way to avoid any potential problems is to review your statement each month or access your account online for unsubstantiated Card purchases. To view unverified

Card transactions online:

  1. Go to www.wageworks.com
  2. Enter your User Name and Password (or click on the "First Time User?" link and follow the simple process to register to use this site)
  3. Click on the Health Care tab
  4. Select the View Claims & Payments link
  5. Select Card at the top of the page
  6. Review the Card transactions with an amount under Receipt of Repayment Needed

The failure to resolve an unverified transaction after 90 days will result in the amount due being deducted from your next approved reimbursement check(s) and/or suspension of your card privileges after 90 days.

Please Note:  Any outstanding unverified Card transactions will need to be resolved before you can be reimbursed fully for any subsequent Pay Me Back claims you file. If you have an outstanding transaction(s) and file a Pay Me Back claim, WageWorks will apply the claim toward the outstanding unverified Card transaction(s) amount before processing your reimbursement.

Resolve Your Unverified Card Transaction
Keep your Card and account in good standing by quickly resolving any unverified Card transactions. Unverified Card transactions can be resolved in one of three ways: you can submit a copy of the original detailed receipt; submit an equivalent receipt for an eligible purchase not made with the card; or, you can you repay your account for the amount outstanding.  Or you can do any combination of the above

For ALL options:

  1. Print out the pre-filled Card Use Verification Form that appears as a separate page in your monthly account statement
  2. Review the form for information about how and where to submit your receipts and/or payments.
  3. Complete and sign the form
  4. Fax the form along with a detailed receipt to the fax number indicated
