WageWorks’ Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) application delivery model enables us to scale and maintain a secure technology platform and deliver innovative features to our clients and participants in a seamless, accelerated, and efficient way. This of course means that we have more of our IT resources available to service and respond to our customers, focus on our platform’s performance, availability, and security, and bring even more product innovations and enhancement options to you our users.
The key principle of our SaaS architecture that makes it so appealing is the concept of a single platform and shared services for all clients, or multi-tenancy. This one-size-services-all approach provides clients immediate access to newly and efficiently released features and platform modifications without upgrade time and cost,so a client will never be left behind on a previous version.
The great news is that this shared services delivery model, implemented in classic WageWorks style with a relentless service orientation, can still easily provide a custom experience for our participants. We ensure our clients have the ability to select from a wide variety of features and adopt them at their own pace, if and when they are ready. This enables clients to control the experience for their users of our platform. We do this by implementing key product features as client-selectable options, such that if the features are selected, they can then be offered to the participant as selectable options as well.
We were excited this fall to release several of these configurable, customizable features on our platform. We not only provided our clients the option to allow participants to choose to receive text and email messages, but we also enabled clients to select whether their participants could have the option to see detailed protected health information (PHI) in these same messages.
