You can submit up to $200 of eligible fitness expenses to receive a maximum reimbursement of $200 per calendar year for yourself and an additional $200 for your spouse if eligible. Multiple claims can be filed in a calendar year. Reimbursement will appear on your pay check.
Do you have a gym membership? Take fitness classes? Run a marathon? The HealthEquity Wellness Reimbursement Program can help you save money on the healthy lifestyle choices you make. This company-sponsored program reimburses you for many of the most common health and fitness services and activities.
Why You Need It
How It Works
The Company offers a Wellness Reimbursement Program for employees enrolled in any company sponsored medical plan and who receives credit for completing a Basic Medical Screening; a spousal credit is also available for the employee’s eligible spouse that completes a Basic Medical Screening. For a Basic Medical Screening completed in 2023, the wellness reimbursement applies to wellness related expenses dated in 2024, which may be submitted in calendar year 2024 or through June 30, 2025; you must also be enrolled in a company sponsored health care plan in 2024. Note that you must submit proof of payment of your wellness-related activities to HealthEquity (formerly WageWorks), the program administrator, for approval for reimbursement. Once approved, you will receive reimbursement from the company in your paycheck.
Note that in the event of your separation from the company, you would be eligible to receive a wellness reimbursement only for claims that were submitted to—and approved by—HealthEquity prior to your separation from service.
How You Get It
Simply pay your fitness expenses as you would normally and you’re reimbursed for those expenses. Your company sets your annual fitness reimbursement limit and determines which expenses are eligible for reimbursement. Typical eligible expenses include gym memberships and fitness classes such as yoga, martial arts classes, Pilates, and fees associated with weight reduction programs and smoking cessation.
How You Use It
In most cases you simply file a claim with receipts and you’re reimbursed for eligible fitness expenses. You will be reimbursed through payroll after tax.
How Much Is It
As an employee, you may receive up to $200 annually for eligible wellness-related expenses, and up to an additional $200 annually for your spouse for eligible wellness-related expenses.
Submit your claim
In order to be eligible for wellness reimbursement, your claim (and supporting documentation) must be submitted to HealthEquity, and approved by HealthEquity, while you are actively employed, and prior to your separation from service from Con Edison for any reason. Eligible reimbursement payments are made through Con Edison’s payroll as soon as administratively practicable. Claims dated after separation of service will not be eligible for reimbursement.
