A Waiver HRA Is the Way to Smart Savings
A WageWorks® KEHP Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA) is an employer-sponsored account to reimburse a portion of your eligible out-of-pocket medical expenses, such as deductibles, coinsurance, and pharmacy expenses. If you’re eligible to receive KEHP health insurance coverage, but you’ve elected to waive it, you’re eligible to receive a general purpose Waiver HRA funded entirely by your employer to help you with healthcare costs.

How does it work?
How a Waiver HRA Works
Waive health insurance coverage and receive a $2,100 Waiver HRA funded entirely by your employer. It’s just another way your employer helps you make your healthcare more affordable.
Use your Waiver HRA to reduce your out-of-pocket spending on eligible healthcare expenses, such as prescriptions and coinsurance when you visit your doctor. Your Waiver HRA is available to you in two installments. You have half of your total Waiver HRA available to you on January 1.
When you waive health insurance coverage, your employer contributes a total of $2,100 to your Waiver HRA in two installments:
The maximum carryover amount each year is $7,500 as long as you continue to waive your health insurance coverage and elect a Waiver HRA the following year.
To be eligible to elect a Waiver HRA, you must declare that you have other group health plan coverage that provides minimum value (per federal law). A “group health plan” refers to coverage provided by an employer, an employer organization, or a union. A “group health plan” does not include individual policies purchased through kynect or governmental plans such as TRICARE, Medicare, or Medicaid.
To be eligible for a Waiver HRA you must:
Are you eligible for a Waiver HRA? Examples:
Using Your Account
With a variety of payment and reimbursement options, your HRA is easy to use.
Pay by Debit Card
Use the WageWorks® Healthcare Card associated with your account to pay for hundreds of eligible healthcare products and services for you, your spouse, and your dependents. It comes to you preloaded with the first $1,050 Waiver HRA installment.
The WageWorks Healthcare Card works like a debit card. Just swipe your card at any in-network provider’s office or pharmacy and the eligible expense amount is deducted directly from your account.
Since your medical plan is not through KEHP, you need to keep your receipts and submit them for your expenses, even if you use your WageWorks® Healthcare Card. You can submit receipts and verify expenses by logging in to your online WageWorks account or by using the WageWorks EZ Receipts mobile app.
Pay Your Provider
Arrange for convenient direct payments to your healthcare provider. Simply access your online WageWorks account and fill out a simple form to have eligible expenses paid directly from your account.
Pay You Back
Arrange for account funds to be transferred to your checking account or a check to be mailed to reimburse you for eligible expenses you've already paid.
You can also use a Healthcare FSA to increase your personal tax savings and help cover your deductible expenses. The Healthcare FSA amount you choose to contribute is added to your HRA amount ($2,100) and preloaded to your WageWorks Healthcare Card.
Managing Your Account
You can manage your account via a secure website on any computer or mobile device that’s connected to the Internet or via the WageWorks EZ Receipts® mobile app. The WageWorks EZ Receipts app makes managing your account quick, easy, and completely mobile. Once you download the app to your mobile device and log in to your account, you can check your balances, submit claims, view transactions, take photos of receipts, and get account alerts by text or email.
