Department of Labor’s Employee Benefits Security Administration has posted several COBRA Continuation Coverage updates to their dedicated COBRA Webpage:

  • Qualifying Event eligibility range for ARRA Subsidy remains September 1, 2008 to May 31, 2010
    • Assistant Secretary of Labor Phyllis C. Borzi issued a statement July 6, 2010 reiterating that at this time, only those whose qualifying event occurred before May 31, 2010 are eligible for the ARRA Subsidy, and may continue to receive the premium assistance for up to 15 months, depending upon their eligibility for other group health plans or Medicare.
    • Although it is still possible that Congress will make additional amendments to the eligibility range for ARRA premium subsidy assistance, at this point in time the official end date for the Qualifying Event eligibility period is still May 31, 2010.
