South Shore Line

General Information

The South Shore Line is an interurban commuter rail line operated by the Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District (NICTD) between Millennium Station in downtown Chicago and the South Bend International Airport in South Bend, Indiana. The name refers to both the physical line and the service operated over that route.

• All WageWorks issued unused monthly or multi-ride passes must be received by WageWorks by the 20^th of the benefit month to issue credit.  Once WageWorks has received the pass, any pre-tax funds will be credited to your WageWorks account and any post tax funds will returned via check or direct deposit.  Any pass purchased using the WageWorks Mastercard® Prepaid Commuter Card or WageWorks Visa® Prepaid Commuter Card will need to be returned following South Shore Lines procedures.
• Once received from WageWorks, lost or stolen tickets will not be replaced or refunded. Your tickets have value. Please safeguard your tickets as you would cash. WageWorks is not liable for lost, stolen, misplaced, or destroyed tickets.
• If you have not received your pass by the first of the benefit month, please call our Customer Service Department at (877) 924-3967.
• South Shore Line offers a mobile app that allows riders to get schedule information, purchase tickets and use their smartphone as an active ticket.  The WageWorks Commuter Card is compatible with the mobile app.
  
  

The WageWorks Commuter Prepaid MasterCard is issued by The Bancorp Bank, member FDIC, pursuant to license by MasterCard International Incorporated. Card can be used at qualified locations everywhere Debit MasterCard is accepted. Card cannot be used cash access or at ATMs.

The WageWorks Visa Prepaid Commuter Card is issued by The Bancorp Bank, member FDIC, pursuant to a license from Visa U.S.A. Inc. Card can be used at qualified locations wherever Visa debit cards are accepted. Card cannot be used at any ATM or for cash access.

Order Timeline 

The timeline of events is as follows:

1. You can log into your account at WageWorks. Select “Enroll in Commuter” then select “Transit." Finally select “South Shore Line” as the service provider.

2. If you’ve selected the WageWorks Mastercard® Prepaid Commuter Card or WageWorks Visa® Prepaid Commuter Card, your funds will load to your card by the 20^th of the month.

3. Once your WageWorks Commuter Card has loaded you can purchase your South Shore Line product anywhere South Shore Line products are sold (excluding 3^rd party retail locations such as grocery stores newsstands etc.)

4. If you’ve ordered a South Shore Line pass to be sent to you by WageWorks, you will receive it before the 1st of the benefit month.
